🧾 Procedure: How to File an AppleCare Claim
Purpose
File a repair/replacement claim for an Apple device covered by AppleCare (including AppleCare One), and track the outcome.
When to use this
- Covered device damage (screen, battery, liquid, hardware)
- Device malfunction after basic troubleshooting
- Need appointment, mail-in repair, or replacement
What you’ll need
- The device (and charger if power/battery issue)
- Apple ID access (use LastPass Families — do not store passwords here)
- Backup completed (iCloud/Time Machine)
- Photos of damage (optional)

Steps
Step 1 — Confirm coverage
- Open Settings → General → About
- Open Apple Support app (or website)
- Confirm AppleCare coverage for the device
Step 2 — Backup first
- iPhone/iPad: iCloud Backup → Back Up Now
